Bismuth crystals are uniquely shaped, iridescent mineral-like crystals formed from the element bismuth, which is heated until molten and then cooled. They are not naturally found but are laboratory-grown, exhibiting a beautiful, rainbow-colored, stair-stepped or hopper structure due to the faster growth rate on their edges than the inside. The vibrant colors are caused by a thin, transparent oxide layer that interferes with light waves.
