Keep Calm and Hold a Crystal (make sure its sanitised first though...)

Im just going to start this by saying, I am NOT a writer. This is probably written so incredibly poorly and you'll be like "What the hell is this junk?" but hopefully you'll pick up what I'm putting down and we'll just suffer through the delivery together...

There is an incredibly stressed energy out there in the world today.
We're in lockdown and no one really knows what the future holds. In the midst of Covid-19 people are panicking. Anxiety and fear are beginning to be daily emotions for many and it seems that we all just need to take a moment, ground ourselves and practice doing things that bring joy and still the mind.

I have been asked a few times to suggest crystals you can work with that can facilitate that state of calm, so here is how I would achieve it and my crystal suggestions.

Firstly, let me just say, that I fully believe that stones make themselves obvious to you when you need them. For instance, you may suddenly feel drawn to a particular stone and have no idea why. But then after reading about the qualities that stone possess, it might be quite clear why the pull was so strong. In saying that, if you know you need a particular energy around you, but don't know which stone holds it, hopefully I list it below. Otherwise, send me a message and I can help you out.

Apophyllite - A great stone for soothing depression and stress related issues.

Lithium Quartz - Natures antidepressant. Incredibly calming and effective at
relieving stress, depression, anxiety and tension. Excellent meditation stone.

Amethyst - This stone stills the mind. It relieves stress and strain, balances mood swings, soothes irritability and eliminates fear and anxiety. Helps with sleep.

Celestite - Incredibly calming, uplifting and soothing. Great to help with sleep.

Calcite - This energy amplifier is great for soothing frayed nerves and lessening anxieties. Encourages rest and relaxation. Great to help with sleep.

Blue Lace Agate - A very supportive stone. Super nurturing and helps neutralise anger.

Howlite - One of the best at reducing anxiety, tensions and stress. Encourages emotional expression and assists in the elimination of stress or rage.

Stilbite - Great for sleep. Those that suffer with any insomnia (especially in such a stressful time) may find this stone can help you slip into a relaxed state of mind
prior to sleep and stimulate profound dreams. Very soothing.

Lepidolite - Soothing and reduces stress and depression due to its lithium content.

Black Tourmaline - The stone of purification. Cleanses the emotional body of negative thoughts and anxieties.

Rose Quartz - A loving stone. One to promote feelings of peace, trust and harmony.

Clear Quartz - Clears the mind of negativity. An all rounder crystal...basically good for everything.
.
Selenite - Super cleansing. Very calming and instills a deep peace. Great for helping you see the bigger picture.

Smoky Quartz - Good for dispelling fear, lifts depression and negativity. Brings emotional calm, relieves stress and anxiety.

Citrine - Another cleansing stone. It imparts joy, enthusiasm and reminds us of the vitality of life. Brings happiness.

Carnelian - A very stabilising stone. Helps with motivation and encourages a love for life.

As for working with any of the above stones, my suggestion is to follow a few easy steps:

  • Find a moment of peace. It can be for as long as you like or as little as a few minutes
  • Get comfortable and begin to focus on your breath - shut your eyes and take deep, slow breaths
  • Try to clear your mind. Think of a space that brings you joy (the beach, the forest, it could be anywhere) and imagine actually being there. Imagine feeling the breeze or the particular smell that you associate with it (salt at the beach, or the dirt on the forest floor). Be there.
  • Hold your chosen crystal in your hand and imagine the energy radiating off of the stone. Its encompassing you. It swallows you. You are calm. You are okay.
  • Set your intentions with this stone and come back to it when you need to. If its a mini, pop it in your pocket, bra or bag.
